Every Wednesday and Thursday, the Zuiderstrandtheater presents ZST Live, its online stage. Today it’s the turn of Farid Sheek and the Parso Quartet. This quartet of four gifted musicians brings together Persian music, opera, and jazz in a unique fusion.

“Music allows you to tell a story that is larger than words,” says Farid Sheek. Through his compositions, piano, and the daf (a Persian frame drum), he shares stories that live in the space between black and white—between Iran, where he was born, and the Netherlands, where he now resides. His work reflects both his Iranian roots and the Western influences he has embraced since moving to the Netherlands in 2011.
Gradually, Sheek is becoming a deeply rooted part of the Dutch cultural landscape, appearing more frequently at leading festivals and alongside major orchestras. He has previously performed with the Residentie Orkest and at the Wanderlust Festival at the Zuiderstrandtheater.
