Roffa Sounds

What does Rotterdam sound like?

What does Roffa Sounds sound like? In rhythms and melodies, stories, sounds, and the human energy that moves through the city.

The stories and words of young people from Rotterdam form the emotional core of the project. Their experiences, dreams, and perspectives are woven together with classical richness, rhythmic percussion, and spoken word.

Roffa Sounds is a major new music project that translates the soul of Rotterdam into a completely new orchestral language. The work is built from rhythms and sounds that come directly from the city: from the bustle of the Markthal to the wind sweeping across the Erasmus Bridge.
